Confession time. I have been eyeing Eloquii’s offerings for quite a while now, but had yet to take the plunge. What’s wrong with me you ask? I know, I know. I’m always a little cautious when trying out a company for the first time. But when I saw how well their midi skirts looked on my peers, I knew that it would be my first buy. I wanted to go out of my comfort zone with the color, but when I received it in the mail, I have to admit I was stumped as to how I would style my new treasure.
Little did I know this outfit would be a culmination of bargain finds and perfectly timed purchases. It’s rare, but I just love it when an outfit comes together so easily. I bought this straight-sized top from H&M on a whim and it had been chilling in my dresser for months waiting on me to pull it out of hibernation. My only issue was trying not to look like Miss Halloween 2015 and I was succeeding with this black top and bright orange skirt. Ugh. So what did I do? Added more color!
I told my blogger sisters that I would go full on color this summer. Like Rainbow Brite levels. Ok, maybe not that far. But I felt that the multi-color, threaded necklace I picked up from Topshop in Chicago would pull the look together. Topshop has amazing accessories by the way and as I crossed the threshold of the three-story building to leave, I whispered “we shall meet again”.
My shoes, well let’s just say that the stars in the fashion heavens aligned perfectly to send these jewels from above to grace my precious little (size 10) soles. I had been stalking. Yes, like 137 weeks deep on Instagram type stalking on Asos’ site for these shoes every day. EVERY DAY. They sold out of my size and I kept coming back to see if they’d magically reappear. So when they were on sale, my heart sank as I knew no right-minded fashionista would return these gems. But low and behold! Just when I was about to give up, there they were in all their glory. In my size and $30 off! And as I jumped up and squealed for joy, I had to remember that I was at the hair salon and needed to have several seats after making a scene.

While the crop top and midi combo has been frequently fashioned by many bloggers, I hope my look and story encourage you to step out of your comfort zone and try something new this summer. Join me in getting colorful and let’s enjoy the rest of the season while it’s here!
Peace & Love,
